Removals from Canary Wharf to Spain
Removals from Canary Wharf to Spain, run from the tower lobby to the front door in Madrid, Barcelona or on the coast. One coordinator holds the survey, the Spanish paperwork and the delivery date.
Why the Wharf moves to Spain
Spain draws two quite different moves out of E14. The first is the posting: a bank, consultancy or tech employer sends someone to Madrid, where the business district runs up the Paseo de la Castellana to the Cuatro Torres towers, or to Barcelona’s 22@ innovation district. The second is the choice to leave London altogether — for Valencia, Málaga or the Costa del Sol — once the tower years are done.
Both start in the same place: a flat on Marsh Wall, at South Quay or on the estate itself, with a concierge desk, a service lift and a booking system. So the Spanish end of the brief is planned with the same care as the E14 end, and the two are joined up by one person.
How the Canary Wharf to Spain route runs
We survey your home, in person or by video, and pack and list everything at the Wharf. After the Channel crossing the consignment runs south by road through France into Spain, or travels by sea into a northern Spanish port where that suits the load and the destination better.
Whole homes travel as dedicated loads. Smaller moves — a one-bedroom flat for a posting, or the first tranche of a staged relocation — can share planned space on a vehicle heading the same way. Your quotation sets out which applies, and gives an estimated delivery window rather than a promise we could not keep.
Customs & documentation
Since the UK left the EU, household goods entering Spain need customs clearance. Relief from import duty is generally available when you are moving your residence, provided the paperwork is right: an itemised inventory, your passport, your NIE, and evidence of your new Spanish address or job. We prepare the inventory with you, check the documents before collection and coordinate clearance so the consignment is not held at the border.
The E14 end: leaving a concierge building
An international load out of a Canary Wharf tower is usually bigger than a move across London, and it has to fit the building’s rules. We book the service lift and the loading bay with building management, confirm what vehicle the bay will accept, and if the bay cannot take the full-size vehicle we shuttle from the bay to a vehicle staged nearby rather than blocking the dock.
If you are leaving a rented flat, we can time the collection to your check-out and leave the communal areas as we found them, which matters when a deposit depends on it.
Delivering into Spanish apartment blocks
Much of central Madrid and Barcelona is apartment living, often with a lift too small for furniture and a building administrator who sets the rules. We ask the right questions at survey — floor, lift size, street access, whether the building needs notice — and plan an external hoist or a smaller shuttle vehicle where the street or the stairwell calls for it.

Questions about moving to Spain
Do you move people from Canary Wharf to Madrid?
Yes. Madrid is the Spanish posting we plan most often from the Wharf — apartments along the Paseo de la Castellana, near the Cuatro Torres towers, and family homes in the northern suburbs. The move is surveyed in E14 and delivered to your Madrid address on a date agreed in your written quotation.
Is it better to go by road through France or by ferry to northern Spain?
It depends on the size of the load and where in Spain it is going. A full household for Madrid or the coast usually travels by road after the Channel crossing; a ferry route into northern Spain can suit some consignments. Your coordinator recommends the route at survey and explains why.
What paperwork does Spain need for household goods?
Spanish customs expects an itemised, signed inventory and evidence that you are taking up residence. Commonly requested items are your passport, your NIE and proof of address or an employment contract in Spain. We confirm the exact list for your circumstances before collection and prepare the inventory with you.
Can you store part of our flat while we find a place in Spain?
Yes. Many postings start in a serviced apartment. We can deliver the essentials and keep the rest in secure storage in London, inventoried in and out, until you have signed for a permanent home.
